Hello, my name is Leonor Lopez, and I am the very proud and humbled Assistant Principal of Richland Junior High. I am excited to begin my fourth year with our amazing students and staff.

I began working for RSD, at the beginning of the 2015-16 school year as an 8th grade Social Studies teacher. Prior to joining the RJH team, I worked with 9th - 12th grade “at-risk” youth for Kern County Superintendent of Schools. During my employment with KCSOS, I earned my Masters of Educational Administration in 2012 from California State Bakersfield, University after earning my Bachelors of Science in History from the same university in 2004.

My family and I grew up working all over the beautiful agricultural valley of San Joaquin. We lived in a small labor camp and eventually moved to Bakersfield.  My siblings and I worked hard in the fields and attended a wonderful migrant program that provided us with a language rich curriculum. Both experiences taught us that hard work and determination are key in reaching our goals.
